Our Annual Monologue Match-Up where actors "put their money where their monologue is" has become an anticipated event. Actors compete for prizes, cash and the opportunity to catch the eye of our judges which are industry professionals for the Chicago Theatrical Community
The SSP performed in a school building gymnasium, however for our production "The Night of January the 16th" we used the school cafeteria for a more courtroom-like environment. One night the church next door caught fire. Actor, Rob McKersie while waiting to make his entrance, saw the fire, went outside for a closer look and heard someone coughing inside. He rushed into the burning church and found a man unconscious, pulled him out and then made his entrance for the end of act One. Not bad for a guy who was playing a gangster. He was our Hero!
