New Leaf Theatre
Since 2001, New Leaf has created intimate, animate theatrical experiences that renew artist and audience.
Meet New Leaf - here's a small sampling of our past work!
Backstage with the New Leaf Theatre
Re-imagine.
From the texts we choose to the space in which we produce to our business practices, the renewal New Leaf holds dear comes from the ways we re-imagine our world, our work, and ourselves.
We are huge fans of Rocco Ranalli's on Lincoln Ave. Have you had the pizza? It's incredible.
Our core values of sustainability, connection, and honesty guide us as we work to live out our mission and look toward realizing our vision. From our business practices to rehearsals to performances, we seek opportunities for sustainable theatrical production. The connections within and among the company, our collaborators, the artists and audience members, and the community at large are essential to that sustainability. Running through all we do is our pursuit of honesty. No matter what we do as a company, honesty is our touchstone.
During THE MAN WHO WAS THURSDAY, while some of the actors were rearranging the audience in the theatre, there was a killer dance party happening off stage. And one night we captured it on film.
Since we've been in residence at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center, we've grown to love our space. As a former courtroom, the walls are rich, warm, and oak-paneled - but perhaps the quirkiest thing about our home is the white domed ceiling and enormous chandelier that we have to engage with for every show we produce in the LPCC.
