Bucktown/Wicker Park is a young, fun, energetic neighborhood. There are great places to eat, awesome opportunities for people watching, and it feels like real urban Chicago.
GTT gets a lot of up-and-coming actors and writers who perform at our space 'on their way up' - some of these include TJ Miller (Cloverfield, She's Out Of My League), Hannibal Buress (SNL writer and Stand Up Comedian), Bob Wiltfong (Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show) and Zachary James (Lurch, The Addams Family Musical on Broadway); additionally, established author Peter Beagle (The Last Unicorn) spoke at an intimate screening of his film at GTT in 2010.
Gorilla Tango Theatre is a for-profit theatre. We believe artists need to approach art from a business perspective in order to achieve sustainability in an extremely competitive field. With this in mind, GTT seeks to provide a means for like-minded artists to produce their work as Normal 0 affordably as possible, so that they might be profitable and thus able to produce more art in the future.
